Philosophy and Mission:

To provide musical instruction to anyone, no matter what age, ability, or specialty, so they can have their own musical adventures.

Lesson Package Purchase:

1. Lesson Packages:

• Our payment packages were created so you don’t have to worry about paying for a whole school year at once. Our classes do not run in sessions and there is no designated start and stop to lessons. You or your child may start lessons whenever you feel ready to commit to a weekly day and time.
• You may pay in groups of 1, 4, or 8-lesson packages (12 and 16 lesson packages available for families with multiple children taking lessons)
• Lessons take place every week at the same day and time
• The day/time you choose for lessons will be permanently reserved for you until you decide to stop lessons or want to transfer to another day/time. Alex appreciates 2 weeks notice if you decide to discontinue lessons.
• If you choose to take a break in between your lesson packages, your name will be taken off the schedule until you return. We will only hold your spot for one week with completed payment for your next session.

Just a reminder that all of our teachers are professional musicians so every once in a while they might have a gig, conference, show, etc. that interferes with lessons. Your teacher promises to send a qualified sub who knows what your child is working on. The lessons will take place as normal. If you cancel just because there is a sub, you will still be charged for the class.

Lesson Package Purchase:

1. If you are absent or unavailable for a lesson at your scheduled time, Alex needs 24 hrs notice. We are very strict about this. With less than 24 hrs notice, Alex does not have sufficient time to find someone else to take your time slot, leaving your teacher with a gap in their schedule and no pay.
2. Given 24 hrs notice, Alex would be happy to help you reschedule a lesson or you can go onto our website and schedule a lesson yourself. You may choose any available slot on your teacher’s schedule. If nothing is available, Alex will put you on the reschedule waitlist and contact you when a time becomes available. Remember your weekly time slot is guaranteed to be available but a makeup class may not be.
3. If you need to miss a week, your lesson does not roll over to the next week. You are charged for the lesson even if you do not come. If you choose to do a makeup class, that class will be applied to the past payment you already made.
4. If you are sick or absent, it is your responsibility to contact Alex for a makeup class. If you cannot or do not wish to reschedule a lesson, no problem just understand you will be charged for that week.
5. We understand that everyone is very busy and may not have time for makeups. You can complete a makeup lesson at any time so you can save them all for summer and come in for an hour or two and knock them all out at once or you can just stay for an extended lesson one week if available.

Payments:

• We are having trouble with payments coming in on time. To fix this problem, Alex is requiring everyone to put a credit card on file.
• When you put your card on file, there is a form you will sign to agree to Autopay if you wish OR to confirm that you will only be charged if you are 2 weeks’ delinquent in payment.
• Even though your card is on file, you may continue paying however you wish. Alex will still send invoices to those who want them and cash/checks are always appreciated.

Teachers Responsibilities:

Our teachers promise to be highly qualified, on time and prepared, professional, and ready to help your child succeed at their instrument!

Our teachers promise to abide by Alex’s Music Studio policies and to direct you to Alex if you have any problems or questions.

Terminating lessons:

A teacher may end a lesson early due to negative behavior, lack of practice, or failure to comply with studio etiquette. Teachers also have the right to suggest ending a lesson package early for the same reasons. Lesson packages will not be terminated unless there is an agreement from the teacher and parent/guardian or adult student. There will be no refund given for ending a lesson package early but you may transfer your remaining credits to another student.
